Let’s meet some Saskatchewan Pets!

Pet #1 – Poppy -> Pembroke Welsh Corgi – Age 7 – @littleloafdog (Instagram) – Saskatoon & Regina – Followers 1,007

  • Tell us a little about Poppy: Poppy is the speediest loaf you’ll meet. She loves adventures, food, and is Little Loaf Dogs corgi mascot. *Little Loaf Dog is an online shop that sells handmade corgi stationary
  • Why did you start an Instagram page for your pet? To share my love for corgis, which had expanded to my business that makes corgi stationery. All my doodles are based off of Poppy and my family/friend’s pets.
  • How often do you post content? A few times per week
  • What kinds of things do you post about? My business, LittleLoafDog, handmade pet stationery (and soon to be apparel). Poppy’s adventures, such as hiking, corgi races, playing in snow. And sometimes I’ll post floofy friends that Poppy meets or that are at USask
  • What do you enjoy about having an Instagram page for your pet? I love to share everything about Poppy. It makes me smile when she comes on campus and people, who I have never met, come over and say “omg is that LittleLoafDog??”. Or if random people ask about her I like to say “my dog is famous haha”. Is she? Not by a long shot. But to me she is the most important and loveable doggo. I also enjoy socializing and meeting new creators and small business owners on here. We help support each other by sharing and talking together.
  • What is a downside to having an Instagram page for your pet? I haven’t had many issues with my account. Despite Instagram “shadowbanning” us many times, I love my current followers and how they interact and talk with me. I have found its better to have a Follower base that you can communicate with and interact with than a bunch of random people that clicked your account.
  • Do you have any tips for those wishing to grow their followers or get started as a Pet Influencer? Post as little or as much as you want! You are sharing your love for your floof, who cares how many hearts or followers you have. Who cares if you aren’t consistent, we can be busy at times with work or school. Understand those who follow and interact and you get to know will not mind if you only post once a week or once a month. Share for the love of your floof, not for the love of publicity.
  • Do you receive any form of compensation from your Pet’s page? I run my own business, Little Loaf Dog, and will be paid if I sell online or at markets. Sometimes we win giveaways or shop local to share other creators accounts as they desire recognition.
  • Is there anything else you would like to add? Thank you for thinking of us! We are a small pet business and Poppy adventure account that appreciate all the support given. We are more than happy to have people message us hello or if they have any questions about owning a corgi. Although I do not post 5x a week due to university, I do appreciate everyone that has followed our journey and helped us grow to where we are now.
