Paws & Claws Animal Rescue Inc. is a volunteer-run Registered Charity and Non-Profit based in Yorkton Saskatchewan and was established in 2015. Though they are based in Yorkton they do help Animals all over the province.
Types of Animals they work with:
- Dogs
- Cats
- Rabbits
- Other Small Animals
Organization’s Goals:
- Rescue animals from abusive, endangering or neglectful situations as well as those in danger of being euthanized at local shelters/pounds.
- Assist owners willing to keep their dogs, until new homes can be found through the Organization’s Owner Surrender Program
- Provide necessary veterinary care
- Provide homes for these animals through volunteer Fosters
- Place these animals into permanent adoptive homes
- Educate and promote the importance of spaying/neutering companion animals and how to help prevent animal cruelty
Paws & Claws is always looking for volunteers to help foster animals as there is no short supply in animals in need.
To be a foster with Paws & Claws you ideally need to be within a reasonable distance of Yorkton as they work with certain vets in the area and fosters need to be able to travel to these partner clinics for any medical appointments. If you would like to become a Foster with Paws & Claws you can fill out a Foster Form on their website.
Other ways to Volunteer:
- Temporary Fosters/Pet Sitters
- Drivers (pick up strays, drive for weddings/other events, take fosters to appointments, etc)
- Fundraising Events (BBQs, Trade Shows, Selling tickets for raffles, etc)
- Adoption Events (watch the animals, take them out for potty breaks/quick walks)
- Bartending Fundraisers (bartend, coat check, ticket sales, etc)

- Monetary Donations for ongoing Vet Bills
- Wet & Dry Dog & Cat Food
- Leashes & Collars
- Toys
