Saskatoon Dog Rescue
Description
Saskatoon Dog Rescue (SDR) is a non-profit, volunteer-run organization operating in Saskatoon. They have been rescuing, rehabilitating and rehoming reglected and abandoned dogs from across Saskatchewan since 2012. SDR works closely with resource-limited communities across Saskatchewan to help control their overpopulation problems. They do this through their Spay/Neuter & Return Program as well as removing stray dogs and bringing them into their foster-based organization. The dogs are then physically, medically and behaviorally cleared before they are found new forever homes.
Saskatoon Dog Rescue also offers a Community Outreach Program which provides informal pet therapy to vulnerable populations in Saskatoon. This amazing program helps both the people and dogs as it provides them with a sense of connection and can bring comfort and cheer to those who need it.
Volunteer opportunities with SDR include:
- Fostering (help a dog prepare for their forever home)
- Dog Sitting (great for those that can't commit to a foster full-time)
- Transport (for dogs and supplies)
- Fundraising, Bartending & Adoption Events
You can also help out by donating funds or supplies, holding a fundraiser or if you're looking to add a dog to your family, adopt!
