SCAT Street Cat Rescue

SCAT Street Cat Rescue is a registered charitable organization that has been rescuing and re-homing cats and kittens since 1996 in Saskatoon. Street Cat Rescue depends on their community and volunteers to raise money and support the operation of the organization and help the cats find new homes.

The SCAT Team rescues and cares for stray, abandoned, feral, sick, injured and neo-natal cats. They also provide medical care and socialization through foster homes and attempts to find permanent homes for the cats. SCAT also works hard to educate the public about cat spay/neuter education to reduce the problem of pet overpopulation.

Many of the cats in Street Cat's care are in foster-homes while some are also homed at local pet stores or their small facility in the North End of Saskatoon awaiting their forever home.

Ways to get involved with SCAT include:

• Donate (money or supplies)
• Foster (open your home to a feline in need)
• Fundraising/Adoption Events
• Volunteer at the PetsMart Adoption Centre or the Street Cat Facility
• Pick an item off their Critters Wishlist OR Amazon Wishlist to donate directly to them
• Donate your recyclables at Sarcan Drop & Go using code: 3069557228
• Shop at Co-op gas or grocery stores and use the SCAT Co-op number 204933
• Aluminum cat food tins: remove the labels and wash well; call or email the office for the drop off address located in Lawson Heights. They recycle for cash for the cats!
• Sign up to do surveys through SaskWatch; every time you raise $10.00 or more you can donate it to SCAT; if you wait and donate after your total reaches $20.00 you will receive a tax receipt.
• Create (Join the Kitty Krafters 4 Street Cat Rescue, a group of volunteers who knit, crochet, sew and create items for sale at events)
• Transportation (supplies or cats)
