Prairie Pooches Rescue was established in 2011 and is a registered charity and non-profit organization based in Cando, SK. Though they are based in Cando they do have fosters, volunteers and help dogs across Saskatchewan. Prairie Pooches is a foster-based, Volunteer-run organization that relies on fundraising and donations to operate.

Prairie Pooches Rescue rescues stray, abandoned, abused, or surrendered animals and ensures each animal receives veterinary care, sterilization, vaccinations, and microchips before being adopted. They also promote the welfare of animals for the benefit of the public by supporting responsible pet ownership.
