Lumsden Valley Cats (LVC) is a volunteer-run Non-Profit based in Lumsden and was established in 2023. They mainly operate within the RM of Lumsden but will occasionally support neighboring communities if they have the resources available.

Lumsden Valley Cats is run by 5 volunteers who are local to Lumsden. In less than 2 years, they have helped 120 cats and kittens and raised nearly $30,000! Lumsden Valley Cats is always looking for volunteers to help foster animals as there is no short supply in animals in need.
To be a foster with LVC you need to be within 25km of Lumsden, though some exceptions can be made. Fosters are the backbone of their rescue, if you are interested in Fostering apply via their FORM. You provide the safe, loving home and socialization for the cats or kittens. In return, LVC will provide all the litter, food, and medical care. Fostering animals is a very rewarding experience for all involved.
Lumsden Valley Cats relies on donations to help rescue and care for animals in need. They are ALWAYS in need of:
- Monetary Donations to help cover Veterinary Costs
- Wet & Dry Cat/Kitten Food
- Cat Litter
- Gently used Cat Trees & Beds
Each cat/kitten that comes into their care can cost anywhere from $300-$500 to sterilize, vaccinate, microchip. Medical cases cost much more.
