Battlefords Humane Society (BHS) is a Registered Charity Organization based in North Battleford and opened their doors in June 1987. In 2005 they became a no-kill shelter and implemented the spay/neuter and vaccination programs. They rely on donor support and volunteers to provide animal adoptions, education, outreach and community support. They are currently in the process of building their new state-of-the-art shelter building!

Types of Animals they work with: Dogs, Cats & Caged Animals (small mammals, birds & exotics)

Along with being able to adopt a pet from the Battlefords Humane Society they provide some other services that help raise funds for the organization and support the community including:

• Microchipping Clinics – offered twice per year (spring and fall) – cost is $40
• Nail Trims – book a time to get your pet’s nails done – cost is $5
• City/Town Licenses – new licenses or renewals
• BHS also operates BHS Boarding and Grooming which provides boarding, daycare and grooming services (this business was created to help cover operating costs of the shelter!)

Battlefords Humane Society adopts animals out from their shelter location as well as satellite adoption locations such as local pet stores and the Purrfect Cup Cat Cafe in Saskatoon.
