Tips for creating your own Banner Ad:
- Think of a banner ad like a billboard – people will be scrolling through a page and you want to catch their attention within the first 10 seconds
- Use Canva or another similar program to design your ad and choose the specific size of 768 x 432 pixels as that is our banner ad size
- Use high quality images and a large font
- The less wording, the better (7 words or less is usually best!)
- Create something that is visually eye catching and gets the point across quickly – Boring ads are passed by and you don’t want make your ad confusing either – think smart and simple
- Make sure to include your business name/logo – if they want more information about your business they can click the ad so avoid putting other contact information if possible
- A quick way to test your ad is to print out your ad to the size of a business card, hold it at arms length and see if you can still get everything across you were hoping to. If not, go and refine it. People will be looking at your ad from computer monitors, tablets and smartphones so you should be able to understand it at different sizes.
